It’s no secret that Carlyle Place residents are particularly fond of Macon and all it has to offer outside of our Life Plan Community. Whether you’re a resident, a Georgia native or new to the Peach State, you probably haven’t experienced all our hometown has to offer. From live music to community gatherings and festivals, there are plenty of activities for seniors in Macon, GA. Here are some we think you might enjoy.

Now Open: Macon Amphitheater

Also known as the Atrium Health Amphitheater, this 10,000-seat outdoor venue promises an unobstructed viewing experience thanks to its open design and zero pillars. Not only does the theater offer covered and fixed seats, but also you can find lawn seats, green space, vendor and event areas, transitional walkways, specific areas for crews, retail areas and other amenities.

Did Someone Say “Festival?”

In Macon, excitement is always in the air—no matter the season! Our city’s signature event, the Cherry Blossom Festival (more on this below), may have just concluded but don’t worry: There are a lot more family-friendly events to explore. Here’s what’s coming.

Coming Up:

Eat, Drink and Be Cherry!
It’s been another successful year for the city’s signature event, but we still think it’s worth mentioning (so you can visit us again next year!). Every March, Macon becomes a pink, cotton-spun paradise thanks to more than 350,000 Yoshino cherry trees all over the city. What originally started as a three-day festival has since grown into a monthlong celebration featuring hundreds of events. Macon, Georgia’s International Cherry Blossom Festival is considered one of the top 20 events in the south, top 50 events in the U.S. and top 100 events in North America.
