It goes without saying that at the center of every great community is a great team supporting it. At Carlyle Place, we take a lot of pride in our amazing team. That’s why we created two special annual initiatives that are celebrated each December by both residents and employees. These initiatives help us honor the staff that supports the community and offers a way for residents to give back to our team.
The Employee Giving Fund
Residents in the Resident Advisory Council (RAC) created the Employee Giving Fund the first year Carlyle Place opened in 2001. This resident-led program collects funds throughout the year to gift to staff members at the annual Employee Giving Fund brunch held the first week of December. This year’s goal was to raise $120,000. Not only was this goal met, but also it was exceeded with a total $122,843.02 collected. This annual initiative is a wonderful way for residents to interact with staff members outside of their everyday roles and to thank them for all their hard work.
Employee of the Year Award
The Employee of the Year Award is given to an individual who has gone above and beyond, and best represents the community’s mission to provide fulfilling lifestyle opportunities and exceptional healthcare services to seniors here at Carlyle Place. We have an Employee of the Month award every month. Staff members submit nominations, and the Leadership and Employee Action teams review and make the final selection for the monthly winners. The winner of the Employee of the Year Award is announced during the Employee Giving Fund brunch.
This year, Carlyle Place’s Refurbishment Coordinator Mike Brown was awarded Employee of the Year. Mike led several renovations in the past year and left residents overjoyed with their beautifully updated homes. Dick C., one of the residents at Carlyle Place who worked with Mike, spoke highly of him, and admired that “the absolute number of renovations this year would test the organizational ability of most managers, but not Mike. His skill with people would be admired and envied by any manager.”
Past winners have been nominated by their peers, and it is always such a special moment when they are recognized for their exemplary work. We are so proud of all our employees and the hard work they do day in and day out!
These initiatives are a way for us and our residents to show appreciation for all the hard work and dedication of our employees. Our staff is truly what makes our community a special place to live.
